Department for the Community

One of the fundamental goals of the Ashton Parliament is to encourage our pupils to make a positive difference to our school and our wider community. As such, the pupils decided to organise a weekly litter pick of Cecil Avenue during Friday lunchtime. I was incredibly proud to see the resourcefulness and dedication of our pupils with over ten of them giving up their free time to make our local environment a better place. They even managed to raise money for important charities thanks to the successful ‘own shoes’ fundraising event! I look forward to seeing what other impactful initiatives our pupils will lead this year and would like to thank the pupils of Ashton on Mersey Parliament for taking part.
