As part of another positive and successful week at Ashton on Mersey, it was my privilege to deliver assemblies to all year groups on the importance of a good education.
Pupils were asked to consider how learning broadens both our academic and social horizons and opportunities, helps us to manage our lives and finances, and equips us to be able to reflect upon and challenge what is sometimes presented as “The Truth”.
On a separate note, may I please take this opportunity to seek your support in reminding our pupils to take special care when travelling to and from school. This will be particularly important as mornings and evenings begin to become darker, colder and wetter. Pupils should always take care crossing roads, avoiding the use of mobile phones which may distract them, walk with friends and follow a route which is well lit.
