Mr. McConaghie

The very best of Ashton on Mersey school was witnessed by an Ofsted inspection team this week.

Whilst the outcome from the inspection will take a few weeks to be published, I can share that I was proud of the entire school community. Without exception, pupils showed how courteous, diligent and ambitious they are. Pupils were asked to speak directly to inspectors and they expressed how much they enjoy school and how they feel safe whilst enjoying learning both inside the classroom and beyond. It was enjoyable to see the excitement in the eyes of our pupils as they were asked to share their experiences at Ashton on Mersey, from the breadth of personal development opportunities to the new and challenging nature of our curriculum from Key Stage 3 through to our new offer at Key Stage 5.

I appreciate the time that many parents and carers who took time to complete the Ofsted Parent View survey. It is heartening and reassuring to know that the vast majority of parents feel passionate about Ashton on Mersey School and value the culture and ethos that has continued to develop.

I look forward to sharing the full report with you as soon as it is published. But, for now, thank you for supporting the school. Myself, leaders, teachers and support staff will continue to ensure young people are front and centre of our ambitious culture. As our mission statement indicates:

“Together, we will be the best we can be.”

Have a great weekend.
