Welcome from our Headteacher
Ashton on Mersey School is one of the most popular and oversubscribed schools in the region with a reputation for aspiration, endeavour and excellence. As Headteacher, I am proud to lead a team of teachers and support staff who truly believe that every pupil should achieve or exceed their potential.
The school has an established ethos of setting high academic standards by carefully crafting a pupil-centered approach where individual needs are matched with a broad, ambitious and exciting curriculum. In addition, the school is passionate about providing rich and diverse opportunities in an environment designed to nurture lifelong learners and citizens who can thrive regionally, nationally and globally.

24/11/2023Our first community coffee morning was well attended on Thursday by a host of parents, carers and local residents. It was a real treat to hear our school choir for the first time in a while supported by Natalie who played fantastically on the piano. The choir has grown significantly over the past couple of years and we are looking forward to more community performances during the festive period, including a visit to a local primary school and a residential care home.

17/11/2023Ashton on Mersey has long held a reputation of providing excellent education for all its pupils. I wish to emphasise the ‘all’. I was proud to receive information this week which indicates how our examination results continue to put the school in a strong position when compared to other Trafford schools. For example, the attainment of pupils has been nationally recognised as being significantly above national statistics when reflecting on the GCSE results of 2023.
