Headteacher Message

Mr. McConaghie

Ashton on Mersey has long held a reputation of providing excellent education for all its pupils. I wish to emphasise the ‘all’. I was proud to receive information this week which indicates how our examination results continue to put the school in a strong position when compared to other Trafford schools. For example, the attainment of pupils has been nationally recognised as being significantly above national statistics when reflecting on the GCSE results of 2023.

We are not complacent though. We continue to have a vision for every AoM pupil to thrive and go beyond their potential. This week parents of high attaining pupils in Year 11 (pupils targeted grades 7-9) were sent additional materials to support them as they prepare for upcoming mock examinations which commence on the 27th November (for two weeks). There are support mechanisms in place for every pupil though with revisions sessions available every evening.

Next week sees our first Coffee Morning of this academic year. If you wish to register for a place, it would be great to meet you as we share our pastoral vision and how we care for every child.
