We are at the end of the academic year 23/24. For this final newsletter of the year I reflect and show thanks to the Ashton on Mersey community for the unwavering support that has been shown to our school. This year has been filled with many successes including the inception of a new (and very popular) Sixth Form offer. We have had a very positive Ofsted inspection and we have secured more outcomes for young people which illustrate why we remain a school of choice for all families locally. In this final week we have celebrated at the Theatre of Dreams with our prize winners of 23/24. Our Guest of Honour Mr Roger Spencer, who is the Chief Executive of The Christie Foundation Trust, spoke passionately to the audience on the importance of careers in healthcare; specifically cancer developments and research. Our annual sports awards took place for Year 7-9 and we finally managed to schedule Sports Day despite the unreliable weather. School closes for the summer today and reopens on Tuesday 3rd September (Years 8-11 attend at break time). Key Stage 5 results day is Thursday 15th August from 8:30-9:30. GCSE results can be collected from 10am in Thursday 23rd August (followed by Sixth Form enrolment). Please click here to see arrangements for pupils on their return to school September 3rd 2024.
