Mr. McConaghie

Ashton on Mersey continues to pride itself on its strong association with sport. It’s been a week of sporting highs with our sixth form football team securing the AOC Championship whilst they also play in a cup final on Monday. This is a significant achievement for our scholars team and we wish them luck next week. Trials for our ever popular scholars programme continue this weekend. We had a visit from a German school today. 40 students from   Obermenzinger Gymnasium in Munich came to see our school as part of our partnership with Manchester United. The pupils were taken on a tour of our school to see the quality of education on offer here at AOM whilst they experienced lessons in Design Technology. We plan to form a link with this school which may yet create international opportunities for our young people. Finally, you will see in this newsletter a story on a  Manchester United first team debut that might be worth remembering… Have a great weekend.
