School Uniform

Ashton on Mersey’s school uniform is inclusive by design and enables all pupils to feel a sense of belonging and identity. Pupils should accustom themselves to being tidy, well-groomed and suitably dressed for different kinds of activity.

The compulsory school uniform is non-gender specific and is to be worn all year round.

Second-hand uniform is available from school.  Please check newsletters and social media for updates on when sales of this are taking place. For any particular items, please email: office@aom.trafford.sch.uk.

Description

Blazer
Burgundy with The Dean Trust Ashton on Mersey logo – to be purchased from official supplier. One style (without vents) for all pupils from Sept 2023 onwards.
Trousers
Tailored plain black trousers with a crease down the middle, not fitted slimline style, skinny fit, chinos or jeans – can be purchased from any retailer
Skirt
Black elasticated box pleated skirt. Skirts must be no shorter than 5cm above the knee cap. Skirt to be worn with plain black tights (min denier 20). Preferred skirt to be purchased from official supplier but can be purchased from any retailer such as Amazon or eBay. Tights can be purchased from any retailer. Socks are only permitted during warmer weather and school will communicate when this comes into effect. Socks should be plain black and knee length (not over the knee) and can be purchased from any retailer.
Shirt
White, button collar – can be purchased from any retailer
Tie
Clip on school tie – to be purchased from official supplier
Shoes
Plain black school shoes. Boots, trainers, trainer style and canvas shoes are not allowed – can be purchased from any retailer
Jumper
OPTIONAL: Grey with The Dean Trust Ashton on Mersey logo – to be purchased from official supplier

Optional
Pupils may wear a school jumper but ONLY underneath the blazer, not as a replacement for the school blazer. They MUST be purchased through the official school supplier.

Physical Education Kit

  • Black polo shirt with The Dean Trust Ashton on Mersey logo
  • Plain black shorts
  • Plain black football socks
  • Either a black fleece with The Dean Trust Ashton on Mersey logo OR a burgundy and white rugby jersey with The Dean Trust Ashton on Mersey logo
  • Trainers and football boots

For rugby, hockey and football, it is highly recommended that pupils wear the appropriate protective equipment for that sport, such as a mouth guard, scrum cap, shin pads and sport goggles.

Optional

Official long-sleeved base layer and slim trackpants or leggings may be worn during cold weather at the discretion of the PE staff. Hooded tops are not allowed.
Plain black hats and gloves may be worn at the discretion of the teacher when cold.
A towel for use after showering and a separate sports bag in which to place muddy kit will be required on all occasions.

Embroidering of names on PE kit is optional.

Parents/carers are strongly advised to ensure that all personal property, including school uniform is clearly marked with pupil’s name. Whilst every effort is made to safeguard property, the school cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
